Google Bargain

I don't know if you folks are watching but its a great day to be buying GOOG!
Best reason I can find for this is :

"Google Inc. shares fell as much as 4% Tuesday in the face of an analyst downgrade and an "anxious" note reiterating Merrill Lynch's neutral stance, while Amazon.com Inc. gained ground after one of online shopping's heavier spending days."

$-Box 360

Well, if you're not dead you probably know that there are very few x-box 360s in existence. They all sold out today at a price of $399 (for the premium version). Those same units are going for around $2K on eBay right now. That spells demand. Which is why I bought MSFT today at $28.00 near its 52 week high. But I am betting MSFT will hit $30 very soon. Its also a great day for those of us that own some GOOG and INTC. A very good day indeed. In addition all those nay-sayers to Natural gas and Oil have been eating their words in the past few days as the prices are showing substantial moves held back till now due to the late arrival of the winter cold. BRING!!!

Daimler Sells Mitsubishi Stake

Daimler Sells Mitsubishi Stake: "DaimlerChrysler is selling its entire 12.4% stake in Mitsubishi Motors. The investment has been a source of friction among Daimler executives."

Let's Play PLAY

I know its been a while since my last post, but aside from being super busy the market has done nothing good to speak of. Most people have a very dismal forecast for the next few month. The recent drop in the price of oil has increased our trade deficit to a new high and the housing market has been showing signs of decline across the board resulting in lower consumer confidence. The technology sector has been taking huge hits evident from Dell computer's reported earnings down 28% from same quarter last year. Some good news did come out today though. PortalPlay (PLAY) recalled their second offering and was immediately upgraded with a target of $27. And you can be sure it will see that again. If you have been keeping up with this stock you would know that it went from $30-$20 with the news of the offering, now that the offering has been withdrawn most analyst seem to be picking it back up again and the stock show some strong moves today. I believe this stock will hit high twenties again by mid next week.

GOOGLE DESKTOP GET EVEN BETTER

Google announced the finalized version of its Google Desktop 2 application on Thursday and outlined its new features.

Google Desktop 2, a free downloadable application, combines desktop search and the Google Sidebar, a floating tool palette that offers personalized news and other information based on a user's habits.

Dozens of new third-party Sidebar panels are now available, Google said, like iTunes, dictionary Winamp and an American Express panel to track and view credit card transactions in real time. The new software can also display maps related to the sites one visits while surfing the Net.

In addition, developers can use simple JavaScript to write plug-ins for Google Desktop 2, the company said.

Google Desktop for Enterprise, also free, now provides enhanced administration, integration and security features for corporations that want to let employees search for data on their desktop, intranet and the Web, Google said.

Google also launched a new Google Desktop Blog on Thursday.

Google faces competition in the burgeoning market for desktop search from Yahoo, Microsoft and other companies.

Break out the vials

For all you chemists out there, here's what Tamiflu looks like
SO GO MAKE ME SOME!!!

Anyway, don't rush out and buy this stuff. What most idiots out there (ehem Richard Branson) don't seem to realize is that IF this virus mutates into a form where it can commute from human to human, then Tamiflu will probably no longer work on it. So go buy all you want. Make sure that chicken is cooked through and through.

We all though the Google Sun initiative was going to do this but MS beat them to it. I would look for GOOG stock to take a tiny almost unnoticeable hit from this. :)

The last of the rules!!!

I saw this mad looking picture of Cramer and thought it would be appropriate for the last set of rules.
Today you get 5 rules for a total of 25!!!

Rule No. 21: Be a TV Critic
Accept that what you hear on television is probably right, but no more than that.  More

Rule No. 22: Wait 30 Days After Preannouncements
Preannouncements signal ongoing weakness, wait 30 days to see if anything has gotten better before you pull the trigger to buy.  More

Rule No. 23: Beware of Wall Street Hype
Never underestimate the promotion machine because analysts get behind stocks and can keep them propelled in an up direction well beyond reason.  More

Rule No. 24: Explain Your Picks
Buying stocks is a solitary event, too solitary in fact, so always make sure you can articulate your reasoning to someone else.  More

Rule No. 25: There's Always a Bull Market
It's OK if you have to work hard to find it, just don't default to what's in bear mode because you are time-constrained or intellectually lazy.  More

This could have been you if you'd listened
